Let’s talk about wedding sendoffs!
Your wedding day is a celebration of love, unity, and the beginning of a beautiful journey together. As the festivities draw to a close, there's no better way to cap off the night than with a memorable sendoff. Whether you prefer something grand and extravagant or intimate and romantic, choosing the perfect sendoff can add a touch of magic to your special day. Check out some of these options for your and your fiancèe to choose:
Ribbon Sendoff: Create a whimsical and colorful exit with a ribbon sendoff. Guests can wave long ribbons adorned with bells or charms as you and your partner pass through, creating a tunnel of vibrant colors and joyful sounds. The fluttering ribbons add a playful touch to your sendoff, symbolizing the ties that bind you together as you embark on your journey as a married couple. It's a charming and interactive option that encourages guests to participate in the celebration and adds a sense of fun to the occasion.
Petals or Confetti Toss: Add a pop of color to your sendoff with a petal or confetti toss. Guests can shower you with flower petals or biodegradable confetti as you make your exit, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere. It's a simple yet impactful way to celebrate your love and create lasting memories with your nearest and dearest. Make sure you clear your choice with your venue - some venues do not allow fake petals or confetti of any kind.
Vintage Car Exit: Make a stylish exit in a vintage car that perfectly complements your wedding theme. Whether it's a classic convertible or a retro getaway car adorned with ribbons and flowers, a vintage car exit adds a touch of old-world charm and sophistication to your special day. It's a timeless choice that exudes elegance and romance.
Bubbles: For a whimsical and budget-friendly option, consider a bubble sendoff. Guests can blow bubbles as you and your partner walk hand in hand, surrounded by shimmering orbs floating through the air. It's a fun and playful way to end the night, creating a magical atmosphere that will leave everyone smiling.
Fireworks Display: If you're looking to go out with a bang, a fireworks display is sure to leave a lasting impression. Imagine the sky illuminated with bursts of color as you and your loved ones marvel at the spectacle. A fireworks show adds a touch of drama and excitement to your wedding sendoff, creating an unforgettable finale to the festivities. This is another sendoff you will need to clear with your venue first, and may require additional insurance.
Boat or Gondola Ride: If you're celebrating near a body of water, why not make your exit by boat or gondola? Glide across the water under the moonlight, surrounded by the serene beauty of nature. It's a romantic and intimate sendoff that allows you to savor a few quiet moments together before embarking on your new life as a married couple. It would make for some jaw dropping photos, too.
Fiber Optic Wands: Illuminate your grand exit by having guests wave fiber optic wands, creating a magical display of light and color. The wands emit a soft glow that dances through the night, casting an enchanting spell on all who witness it. This modern and innovative sendoff option adds a touch of whimsy and fantasy to your special day, transforming your farewell into a dazzling spectacle that will be remembered long after the night has ended. It's a unique and captivating choice that captures the imagination and creates a truly unforgettable moment.
You’re probably wondering why we haven’t listed sparklers right off the bat.

We’’ll admit: Sparklers are a classic choice for wedding sendoffs, and add a touch of sparkle and whimsy to the occasion. The soft glow of sparklers create a dreamy ambiance perfect for capturing stunning photographs. However, if you know your guests will be participating in all the adult beverage opportunities at the bar, we HIGHLY recommend doing this earlier as a fake sendoff, as soon as it gets dark. Hear us out… Having a bunch of drunk guests waving fire sticks is terrifying, especially for your planner or venue coordinator who will be trying to organize the sendoff. Considering these points when picking your send off of choice can be extremely helpful. No one wants to personally get burnt, see your dress catch fire, or set the venue up in flames.
Another tip to consider while planning the timeline of your sendoff is to make sure that you have your photographer and videographer for enough hours of coverage to capture this moment. While it is a memorable and fun ending to your wedding night, you don’t want to risk the disappointment of not having it photographed if your vendors will already be gone by this time in the evening.
Ultimately, the perfect sendoff is one that reflects your personalities, style, and the unique love you share. Whether you opt for a grand spectacle or a simple gesture, what matters most is that it's meaningful to you and sets the tone for the beginning of your happily ever after. So, as you bid farewell to your wedding day and embark on this new chapter together, may your sendoff be a beautiful symbol of the love and joy that fills your hearts.
